Worth the time it takes to assemble
If you are looking for a kitchen island with butcher block top and drop down leaf, this is a great choice. But be prepared to spend an afternoon on assembly.
This island took about 2 1/2 hours to assemble with two people working on it - although things went most smoothly with one person reading ahead in the instructions, identifying the proper pieces and having everything ready for each step as assembly progressed. No special skills are required beyond patience.
I order and assemble many furniture items and what stood out to me with this Catskill Craftsmen island is that the directions were clear, all the pieces well marked and unlike so many other items, everything was precisely drilled and fit together perfectly once assembled.
Yes, it takes some time to assemble but at least you are not wasting time scratching your head trying to understand the directions and diagrams.
